Cooking Classes
January, February and March of 2012
This is the 13th season of cooking classes for us here at the restaurant. In addition to our regular cooking classes I am again teaching the "Chef for a Day" class in which the students do all the cooking.

The regular classes open 1/2 hour before class starts so folks can gather and class can start on time. The bar is open at that time for cash cocktails except for the knife skills class. (We'll wait until the knives are put away to serve any alcohol). After we come out of class Jane will have wine samples to try with the food. Also remember that these classes include enough food for a full meal so no one leaves hungry.  You will have the recipes so you can make them at home. 

Our regular classes are on Sundays 3:00 - 5:00 and Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and are priced at $60.00. ( Knife skills will be more, To Be Announced)

The Chef for a Day class is very different from our others. I will take 4 students into the kitchen where they will become...Chef for a Day! You will spend 3-4 hours under my guidance and instruction to prepare a 6 course meal. You will learn different techniques, knife skills, short cuts, butchery of meats, sauce making and menu planning. Each student will then invite a guest to join us to dine on your wonderful culinary creations paired with wines to match ( Jane and I will also join you to make a dinner party of 10).

These classes will be on a Sunday and will be $225.00.
Chefs will arrive at 1:15 to cook and their guests will arrive at 5:00 to dine.

This could make a really nice holiday gift. We also can do private cooking classes for 10 -16 people which could be  your staff holiday party or even a birthday gathering.

The class roster will be sent out by email on Thanksgiving weekend. For those of you not on our e-mail list who are interested in the class roster you will need to join our email list before Thanksgiving Day.

How to sign up:
We will begin sign up for these classes on Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 4:00 p.m. You may sign up by phone or in person. There is usually great interest in these classes and they do fill quickly. Call 608-938-2200 on Wednesday, December 14th beginning at 4:00 p.m. to sign up. Payment is required when you enroll. You may sign up for as many classes as you like or as little as one. You may sign up with friends or as a single. By the end of the class you will have made more new friends! If you have any food allergies please mention these at sign up so we can accommodate your needs.

Dates, times and cost:
The dates and cost of each of the classes are listed in the roster under the paragraph describing them and each regular class is offered twice in the week Sunday and Tuesday.  Please note the knife class is priced to include the chef's knife you will take home with you. The Chef for a Day includes the "chef's" day of instruction and the chef and guest's dinner.

About our classes...
Cooking classes are held only January, February and March unless private class arrangements are made. Classes sell out quickly. Notification of classes is now only by email.

Payment for classes is taken at the time of registration. No refunds are given for classes unless we choose to cancel due to weather. If this should occur we will give restaurant credit which may be used for dining or for another cooking class. If you must miss a class you may give it to a friend or contact us and we may have a waiting list and be able to resell it for you.
