FAHRNI, Fred - Obit
Surnames:  BLUM, FAHRNI, FERRELL, FISCHER, HEFTY, MAYER, MUELLER, WEBBER
Fred FAHRNI, 72, of New Glarus & formerly of Bradenton FL, died Tues 25 Nov 1986 in Mount Horeb.  Born in Mount Pleasant Twp, Green Co, 10 June 1914 to Alfred & Bertha (WEBBER) FAHRNI.  Attended New Glarus schools.  On 15 Nov 1934 he married Florence I. HEFTY in Freeport.  Was a licensed cheesemaker, making cheese in Green, Iowa, & Dane Cos. In 1958 he semi-retired from cheesemaking.  In 1975 they moved to FL, where he owned & operated a furniture store.  Later retired to Bradenton.  In July [1986] they returned to New Glarus & lived in the New Glarus Home Apartments.  He was a former member of the WI Cheesemakers Assn & of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bradenton, a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in New Glarus.  Survivors include his wife, Florence, New Glarus; two sons, Lyle of
Arena, & LaVerne of Lee Summit MO; a daughter, Mrs George (Joyce) FERRELL of Sarasota FL; three sisters, Mrs Walter (Minnie) MUELLER, Mount Horeb, Mrs Wilma BLUM, McFarland, & Mrs Paul (Marie) MAYER, Junction City; eight
grandchildren, two great grandchildren & one stepgrandson.  Preceded in death by a son, Larry Alfred in 1954, a sister, Bertha FISCHER, & a brother, Ernest.  Funeral pending arrival of relatives.  Voegeli Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Augusta FALK
Surnames: Falk, Sisson
Augusta Falk was born in Crampso, Germany, March 26, 1873, and died at her home in the town of Albany Aug. 9, 1898, aged 25 years.  She came to Wisconsin with her mother and brothers and sisters when nine years of age, coming first to the town of Sylvester and she has ever since resided in the vicinity of Albany.  She was married to Benjamin A. Sisson in Albany December 6, 1896.  Too much good cannot be said about her.  She was universally kind and loving, doing all the good she could to others, self-denying, very modest and quiet.  She loved her home, and took much comfort in caring for it.  Her only regret in going was in leaving her husband and baby.  She said she was ready to die, yet had a good deal to live for.  Her funeral was held in the Baptist Church on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Joseph Mountain, who, twenty months before, had officiated at her marriage, assisted by Rev. Mr. Detert, pastor of the German Evangelical Church of Juda.

James E. FARMER, 92, formerly of 1021 24th St, Monroe, died Thurs 31 Aug 1989 at Pleasant View Nrsg Home, where he had been a patient since Sept of 1987...born 16 Oct 1896 in Blanchardville, the son of Francis & Alice (JACOBS) FARMER ... attended Blanchardville schools...married Ethyle GAVIGAN 5 Oct 1926.  She died 17 March 1949...married Leona WYSS 5 Aug 1955.  She died 12 Aug 1985.  As a young man...worked for the IL Central Railroad.  Later he became a barber & had his own shop in the basement of the Ludlow Hotel, then on Smokey Row, and in his home until his retirement ... was a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church...survived by two sons, William of Winter Haven FL, & Charles of Dallas TX; a daughter, Mrs Richard (Mary Jane) KUBLY of Janesville; five grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren...preceded in death
by four brothers, Frank, Charles, John & William, and a sister, Mrs Sam (Frances) MEYERS.  Funeral...Tues [5 Sept 1989] at Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe.  The Rev Roger NILLES of St Victor's Church will officiate.  Burial...Calvary Cemetery, Blanchardville...

Milt FELDTMAN of Monroe died in a hospital at Dubuque last Friday as a result of injuries received while trying to board a train at Peosta, Iowa.  He left his home in Monroe on Wednesday and in company with a companion, Clyde Noble, also of Monroe, was trying to ride “dead-had”.  His funeral was held at Monroe Sunday.

Mrs. Alonzo FENTON
Died-At the family residence, near Attica, March 3,1894, Mrs. Alonzo Fenton, aged 73 years, 2 months and 18 days.  Mary Ann Whipple was born in Cattaraugus County, New York, Dec. 15, 1821.  She was married to Alonzo Fenton in July, 1838 and came with him to Green County in 1845, settling on the farm where they have since resided.  Their union was blessed with ten children, six of whom are still living.  Mrs. Fenton was highly respected by all who knew her and will be sadly missed from the neighborhood where she so long resided.  The desolate home will no longer be like home since mother is gone.  Deceased has been an invalid several years, but her last illness was brief, death being due to heart disease.  Funeral services were held at the house, a large circle of friends following the remains to their last resting place.

After a long and painful illness, Mrs. William FENTON died early Tuesday morning.  Mrs. Fenton was the daughter of the late Anson Smith who lived in Albany for a number of years, and was born and raised in the town of Exeter.  She leaves a husband and three children, Polly, Ida and Theo, to mourn their loss.  Funeral services were held at her late residence today and the remains interred in the Exeter cemetery.  Dr. Flower of Monticello and Dr. Morgan of this city held an autopsy on the remains yesterday, and found a cancerous condition of the pancreas and duodenum, which was the cause of her death.

Mrs. Will FISH
Mrs. Will Fish of Monroe died very suddenly at the sanitarium last Thursday night. She has been in poor health several months and has been at the sanitarium for treatment several times during that time. On Thursday she drove down from Monroe with her husband, arriving about 7:00 in the evening. She took her usual treatment and retired, but two hours later she passed away. She leaves two children, a boy and a girl, aged 8 and 5 respectively, and her father and brother, besides the sorrowing husband and hosts of friends. She was 32 years old. Mr. Fish is interested in the planing mill at Monroe.

Paul Fitz-Gibbon, Sr., 80, of Redding CA, died Wed 13 Nov 1985 in Redding.  Born in Beverly MA 8 Oct 1905.  Son of Thomas & Ellen (SCANLON) FITZ-GIBBON.  Attended Exeter Prep School in NH & Bowdin College IN Maine.  On 26 Aug 1931 he married Katherine MARTY, a former Monroe resident, in Cleveland OH.  He was the manager of the Montgomery Ward Store in Monroe for many years.  Later founder & operator of Wadsworth Millworks Corp in Wadsworth OH for 20 years.  Lived in Lake Wood OH for many years.  Was a longstanding member of the Lake Wood Country Club.  Retired to West Covina CA in 1964.  Lived in Redding for the past two years.  Survivors include his wife, Katherine of Redding; two sons, Paul Jr. of Los Angeles & William of Van Nuys CA; three daughters, Mrs Joseph (Jane) McKENNA, Redding, Mrs. John (Susan) WINTON, Elmhurst IL, & Mrs Robert (Carol) SHOWALTER of the WI Dells-Lake Delton area; & 12 grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents & four brothers, Thomas, William, Elmer & Francis.  Graveside services Sat 16 Nov 1985 Calvary Cemetery, Monroe.  Rev Roger NILLES of St Victor's Catholic Church officiating.

Jerome Bonaparte FLEEK
Jerome Bonaparte Fleek died at his home in Brodhead last Sunday, at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 26 days.  Mr. Fleek was one of the pioneers of this county, coming here from Virginia at the age of 16.  For many years he resided in Jordan Prairie, where he owned nearly 500 acres of land.  Several years since, he retired from active life and moved to Brodhead.  For many months he has been a sufferer of Bright’s Disease, and death was a welcome release from life’s trials.  The funeral was held Tuesday and the remains interred in the Dawson Cemetery, near his old home.  Deceased leaves a wife—his faithful companion for 40 years and three children.

Fleek—At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tamson Howard, in this city, on Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 1898, about half past three o’clock, Mrs. Susan FLEEK, of pneumonia, aged 78 years 8 months and 23 days.  Susan Fleek, daughter of Henry Fleek, was born in Hampshire County, Virginia, on Sept. 2, 1819 and was married to Benjamin H. Fleek in the year 1841 in Ohio and four years later they came to the state of Wisconsin, settling on Jordan Prairie, west of this city.  Nine children were born to them, six of whom are still living:  Adam G.B. Fleek, John J.D. Fleek, Mrs. Allie Roderick, Mrs. Clementine Fisher, Mrs. Hattie Murdock and Mrs. Tamson Howard, all of whom are living but a few miles from the old homestead and are well known to many of our readers.  Those who have preceded their mother to the better world were:  Henry, Demarius and Samuel.  Since the death of her husband which occurred in 1883, Mrs. Fleek has, until about two years ago, lived at her own home; since then she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Murdock, and it was while making a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Howard, in this city that she contracted the disease which resulted in her death.  Another mother has passed away.

Bernice FLINT
Died—Bernice, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Floyd Flint, died Tuesday, May 18, 1897 after a week’s illness of infantile paralysis.  She was 3 years, 11 months and 15 days old.  The funeral was held from the Baptist church at 2:00 pm today.

Franklin Sanford FLINT
Surnames: Flint, Lewis
Franklin Sanford Flint, youngest son of Joshua and Sally A. flint, was born in the town of Albany, April 8, 1870, and died at his residence on the homestead three miles northeast of Albany on Tuesday, March 12, 10901, aged 30 years, 10 months and 22 days.  His death was due to a complication of mumps and the grip.  His condition had been considered dangerous, but on Sunday he was much better.  A relapse, however, carried him off.  Frank was a cordial, whole-souled young man, popular with all who knew him, and his death came like a shock to the entire community.  Nov. 20, 1892 he was married to Miss Maude E. Lewis, who with a little daughter seven years of age, his aged mother, one brother, one sister and many relatives and friends, mourn their loss.  The funeral was held at the Baptist Church today at 2:00 services being conducted by Rev. Jas Mountain of Pewaukee, formerly a pastor of the Albany Baptist Church.  Rev. Mountain conducted the funeral of the late Joshua Fling, and was held in high esteem by the deceased.  The local camp of Modern Woodmen, of which Mr. Flint was an honored member, turned out in a body and had charge of the funeral.

Mrs Alma FREITAG, 92, Monroe, died Tues 9 May 1989...[in Monroe].  She was born 30 Aug 1896 in Mount Pleasant Twp, Green Co, the daughter of Henry & Anna (LOSENEGGER) BABLER...attended Monticello schools...16 June 1927 ... married Jacob H. FREITAG in Freeport.  They lived in Madison until 1937 when they moved to Monroe.  Her last residence in Monroe was at 817 15th Ave...became a resident at Monroe Manor in 1986...survived by a brother, Clarence BABLER, Monticello...preceded in death by her husband 4 Oct 1984; two brothers, Herman in 1986 & Marv in 1953; a sister, Mrs Welta THEILER in 1984; four half-brothers, Henry, Ezra, Fred, & Jacob BABLER; and two half-sisters, Mrs Fred (Lena) MARTY & Mrs Anna KELLING.  Funeral...Sat [13 May 1989] in Zwingli Church Memorial Lounge with the Rev Erwin H. PAGEL of the church officiating.  Interment...Highland Cemetery, Monticello...

Oscar F. FRITSCH, 69, W5392 Round Grove Road, Monroe, died Sat 1 Oct 1988 at the Veterans Hospital, Madison ...Born 10 Nov 1918 in Clarno Twp, Green Co, he was the son of Edward G. & Anna M. (HEFTY) FRITSCH.  He attended Clarno rural school and served in the US Army.  He entered the service 13 Feb 1943 in Milwaukee and was discharged 2 Dec 1944 from Fort Sheridan IL.  A Tech 5 in the Army, he received medical technical training at William Beaumont Hospitalin El Paso TX...was with Detachment MD Foster General Hospital in Jackson MS...was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.  His marriage to the former Joyce Elaine QUIES took place 10 Nov 1950 in Rockford.  Following his discharge from the service Mr QUIES [this is a typo in the article, should be FRITSCH] ran a lime trucking business & worked at Micro Switch in Freeport until 1968.  He later opened a donut shop in Monroe and worked for Belke and Kundert Oil until retiring in 1981 ... was a member of the United Methodist Church and a former member of the Monroe Moose Lodge.  Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Anna Mae FRITSCH, Racine, and Linda K. HARNISH, Orangeville; a stepson, Eugene F. QUIES, Ft Meade MD; a sister, Mrs Orville (Edna) WHITE, Monroe; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren ... preceded in death by a daughter, Betty FRITSCH LILLGE MCKILLIP in 1987; a daughter and son in infancy; a brother, George; his father 21 Jan 1967, and his mother 28 Jan 1985.  Funeral...Wed...Monroe, with the Rev Laurence GOEBEL of United Methodist Church officiating.
