TEN YEARS OF KNITTING WORKSHOPS
IN MONTICELLO, WI

Kevin Ames - San Francisco, California

Kevin is a professional church musician and choir member.  His contribution, a Gregorian Chant sweater is an example of one of his methods of designing:  as he chants he knits using the music to dictate the design.

Beth Brown-Reinsel - Putney, Vermont

Traditional knitting inspires Beth.  Her book, Knitting Ganseys, published in 1993, is a classic.  She has been involved in many facets of the fiber arts as a spinner, basket weaver, dyer, knitter, former yarn shop owner, author, and knitwear designer, but teaching is her passion.

Nancy Bush - Salt Lake City, Utah

Nancy is also inspired by traditional knitting.  She developed her knowledge of traditional knitting techniques and uses of ethnic patterns using a degree in Art History and post-graduate studies in color design and weaving in San Francisco and Sweden.  She is a frequent contributor to knitting magazines and is the author of 5 books.

Lily Chin - New York City, New York

Starting her employment in the textile industry as a teen, Lily has lifelong experience in the fashion/textile industry.  You may have read her books, seen her name in connection with famous designers, or seen her on TV.  She holds the "fastest crocheter" title and produced a sweater for David Letterman during one of his late night shows.

Susanna Hansson - Seattle, Washington

Growing up in Sweden in the late 1950's and early 1960's she learned to knit in the fifth grade like all other Swedish girls.  In Europe, how you knit is still very much determined by where you grew up; it is only in America that knitters choose whether to hold the yarn in the left or right hand and then continuously agonize over which is the faster way to knit.
