TEN YEARS OF KNITTING WORKSHOPS
IN MONTICELLO, WI

Vivian Hoxbro - Copenhagen, Denmark

Now known for her modular knitting and shadow knitting, Vivian has a strong textile design background from embroidery design for Mayan women in Mexico to knitting in Japan.  She is best known for her kits - designs kitted by an American yarn company.  Her books were initially published in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Japan, followed by their introduction to American knitters.

Carol Hurt - St. Louis, Missouri

Carol is a productive knitter and her sweaters and other garments fit her perfectly.  Many knitters on the internet depend on her pattern selections and yarn selections to guide them.  She freely shares her tips for techniques with them.  As she and her husband travel, he drives - she knits; thus the tremendous number of finished garments.

Maureen Mason-Jamieson - Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Maureen graduated from the fashion and design course at Ryerson University and ran her own business sewing for others.  She transitioned to knitting and is interested in all types of color knitting, especially modular knitting, partially inspired by Horst Schulz of Genmany.  The Pacific Northwest has been a great influence on her life and her knitting designs.

Sally Melville - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Early years of knitting challenges (other people might say successful failures) thrust Sally into designing, teaching, and writing about knitting.  Her perspective as a thinking knitter and background as a university teacher of life skills enhances her unique outlook and methods.  Her international fame spread with the "boyfriend sweater".

Annie Modesitt - St. Paul, Minnesota

Annie is a knitting heretic, challenging knitters to consider knitting in an unconventional way and to think "outside the box".  She designs extensively for major knitting magazines and her own books.
